Don Carney: Pink, Brown & Turquoise Chevron, Original Block Print on Paper in Vintage Frame

Don Carney's block printed chevron art is an exploration of the interplay between color and form.  Working with a collection of linoleum blocks in a variety of shapes and sizes each carved by the artist, Carney builds up layer upon layer of carefully mixed and applied colors by meticulously placing each block into organized rows of contrasting forms. The finished result is a highly textured field of colors and shapes interwoven into a geometric and cohesive composition.

Don Carney was born and raised in Massachusetts.  He studied at the Art Institute of Boston and his art has been exhibited in New York, Tucson, Tokyo and Paris.  He is the co-founder of the design studio PATCH NYC and his art appears in many of the studios projects and designs.
