Here, a beautifully hand colored lithograph of three fishes from the extensive work (with an equally extensive title): L'histoire Naturelle des Quadrupedes Ovipares, des Serpents, des Poissons et des Cetaces (The Natural History of Oviparous Quadrupeds, Snakes, Fishes and Cetaceans). The volumes were the work of naturalist Bernard-Germain-Étienne de La Ville-sur-Illon, Comte de Lacépède. This lithograph was printed in Bruxelles by Th. Lejeune in the early 1800's. The silver tone wood frame is vintage.
Original hand-colored lithograph on paper under glass in a vintage silver tone wood frame. Frame measures about 9.25"h x 7.25"w. Image measures about 7.5"h x 5.5"w.
