Here, a beautifully detailed engraving printed and hand-colored in France showing a landscape with magpies in a tree. This original engraving is from a series of books published in 1834 called: Dictionnaire Pittoresque d'Histoire Naturelle et des Phenomenes de la Nature (Picture Dictionary of Natural History and Phenomena of Nature). The frame is vintage.
Original hand-colored French engraving on paper under glass in a vintage wood frame. Frame measures about 11.5"h x 6.5"w. Image measures about 10.25"h x 5.5"w.
