Inspired by decorative arts and production techniques of the 18th Century, Antoinette Poisson produces exquisite printed papers and fabrics from an atelier in Paris. The design house is named for Louis XV's favorite mistress, the marquise de Pompadour, a patron of the arts and wallpaper enthusiast.
This artwork is inspired by a design in the personal collection of Antoinette Poisson. It is attributed to Les Associés, a manufacturer active in the mid 18th century. Following traditional production techniques, the black ink is printed using a metal plate and the colors are applied entirely by hand so variations will occur.
