We are pleased to offer wonderful smelling incense from the Paris based design studio Astier de Villatte. Inspired by travels around the world, Astier de Villatte incense is handmade in Japan by master craftspeople following traditional techniques on the island of Awaji.
The inspiration: Legend has it that, one day, a trunk of Agar wood was washed onto the beach of Awaji. The island dwellers burned the wood and the smell was so intoxicating that they decided to offer it as a gift to the Emperor and to build a sanctuary on the island
The fragrance: driftwood, resins, jasmine, immortelle.
One box contains 125 sticks (30 minute burn time each). Box measures 6" x 2.5" x .75". Made in Japan. Incense holders sold separately.
