Don Carney's paintings showcase a dynamic interplay of forms, hues, and compositions. The artist's creative vision draws inspiration from various sources, including vintage costumes of the Ballet Russes, Paul Poiret's textile designs and the early surrealist fashions of Elsa Schiaparelli. In addition, Carney's personal collection of vintage items and the artwork of his late friend, Byrd Swift, serve as significant reference points.

Don Carney was born and raised in Massachusetts. He studied at the Art Institute of Boston and his art has been exhibited in New York, Tucson, Tokyo and Paris. He is the co-founder of the design studio PATCH NYC and his art appears in many of the studios projects and designs.
