Original French Engraving Studies of Mercure (Mercury) on Laid Paper in Painted Frame

Here, an original 18th century French engraving with seven studies of Mercury (Mercure), the Roman god of commerce and travel. This engraving was published in Paris as part of a series titled L'Antiquite Expliquee et Representee en Figures (Antiquity Explained and Illustrated with Figures) by Bernard de Montfaucon in 1719.

Original engraving on laid paper under glass in a painted wood frame.  Frame measures about 16"h x 10"w. Image measures about 13.5"h x 7.75"w.
