Four Butterflies (Papillons)- Original Hand-Colored French Engraving in Vintage Frame

Here, an exceptional 18th century hand colored engraving of four butterflies each with beautiful decorative patterns.  The French text reads Lépidoptères (Lepideptera) the insect order which includes moths and butterflies (papillons).  The textured mat and wood frame are vintage.

Original hand-colored engraving under glass in a vintage wood frame.  Frame measures about 10.75"h x 7.75"w. Image measures about 6.75"h x 4"w. Sold individually.
