Vintage Chalkware Blue Elephant in a Hat

PATCH NYC founders Don and John love to visit vintage markets whenever they travel and we are pleased to offer a selection of their special finds.  

Here, a terrific rare example of early chalkware in the shape of a blue elephant standing with front legs on a podium and sporting a polka dot hat.  We love the expressive hand-painted details (that stripe on the trunk!) and the scattering of glitter and the wonderful shade of blue.  This is a great decorative piece!

Chalkware. About 12"h x 5"w x 5.75"d. Sold individually. The original mold for this elephant included a slot on the back presumably for coins but it is filled in on this decorative piece.
