Vintage Metal Columbia Family Scale for Houghton & Dutton of Boston

PATCH NYC founders Don and John love to visit vintage markets whenever they travel and we are pleased to offer a selection of their special finds. 

Here, a fantastic sculptural vintage metal scale. This "Family Scale" was produced for Houghton & Dutton, a major department store in Boston during the early 1900's, as visible on the side labeling.  We love the type font style on the face and the decorative gold tone circular border.  As a decorative object, this scale would make a perfect sturdy pedestal for displaying a prized object or a stack of books or a plant or a candle.  We love a vintage piece that is both decorative and functional and, yes, this piece still functions although we can't guarantee the accuracy.

Metal. Measures about 8.25" tall x 6"wide x 8.5" deep.  Made in the USA.
