Vintage Floral Pattern Paper Mache Trays Made in Japan (assorted set of 4)

PATCH NYC founders Don and John love to visit vintage markets whenever they travel and we are pleased to offer a selection of their special finds. 

Here an assorted set of vintage floral pattern paper mache trays made in Japan.  We have a fondness for the beautiful decorative patterns rendered in gold with dashes of color.  These trays were made from covering a clay or wood mold with layers of sturdy washi paper strips and a natural paste resulting in a hardened shell when dry.  After the floral decoration was applied, the tray was coated in a protective lacquered finish.  These trays make great catch alls on a nightstand, dressing table or in an entry hall because they're perfect for holding keys or trinkets or stray change. 

Paper mache. 8" x 4.75" x .5". Sold as an assorted set of 4 as shown. Made in Japan.
